Tabilo and Business Sustainability: Doing What We Can

4 January 2022

From high-end bistros to tiny, family-run cafes, we are lucky to be able to supply great products across the spectrum of society. But we think we can do more.

Global problems, from climate change to poverty, affect us all. We can’t solve them alone, but we can all use our power to help a little bit at a time.

As part of our business relationship with AquAid, a donation was recently made to The Africa Trust. This worthy cause helps provide people living in Africa, whose conditions are less fortunate than our own, with clean drinking water.

This donation went to The Africa Trust with the goal of constructing an Elephant Pump in an area of Africa where water scarcity is a serious ongoing concern.

We were recently thrilled to receive this email from AquAid

It has been quite some time since we were last in contact – I do hope this email finds you all well.

I am delighted to advise that your pump has been built!

Donations to worthy causes are not the end of the story for us. We try to act with a conscience in everything we do.

For starters, we don’t supply products that aren’t designed to last. It is wasteful to buy a chair or table, regardless of the price, if it is going to end up in a landfill in only a few years. Tabilo tables should last pretty much as long as a restaurant, hotel or other business wants to use them – at which point, they should still be fit to be sold, donated or reused in some way.

(For a great example of our durable products, see our Tuff Top tables)

If you also believe it is our responsibility to the world to help those who are less fortunate, as well as to create a sustainable future for the next generations, consider donating to a charity such as The Africa Trust
